Legacies of Malcolm X & Ho Chi Minh live on today

fuckyeahmarxismleninism:

By Larry Hales

May 19 is the birthday of two beloved internationalists and revolutionaries.

Ho Chi Minh was born in 1890. He was the founder, in 1941, of the Viet Minh independence move ment, which eventually kicked the French out of Vietnam in 1954. He was also the leader of the National Liberation Front that led the fight against the U.S colonizers who replaced the French. Ho had traveled extensively in Europe, the United States and Asia, and had assisted movements in those countries, even becoming a founding member of the French Communist Party. Ho Chi Minh did not live to see the liberation and unification of his country once the U.S. military was kicked out in 1975.

Malcolm X was born in Nebraska in 1925. He became one of the great Black leaders in this country, seeing far beyond the fight for civil rights and catapulting that movement onto the international stage. He inspired the militant Black liberation movements of the 1960s.

It was no cosmic feat, nor was it fate, that these two were born on the same day. But the conditions in both countries and the qualities of both made them great revolutionary leaders of their time. Both Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh are to be commemorated today because the struggles that they were part of and led are ongoing. They are the struggles of all workers and the oppressed.

The affects and impacts of films on the movie watching audience.

Found my paper for W&R 2 about the affects of films on the audience and what we take away from it. It’s not bad, not great either, looking at it makes me want to revise it and add some new stuff.

Action! The affects and impacts of films on the movie watching culture

If you ever went to see a movie with your family or friends, you may have something in your mind that stuck with you after the film was over. You think it was cool and then you forget about it. Though for some, that thing they remember stays with them as they go on with their lives and it doesn’t go away. It’s important to know how films have impacted the viewer audience because films aren’t just there to entertain for some. It can become like a new world to them. People act like characters from a film also they have debates and discussions about an ending of a film they liked or disliked. The technology used to enhance the viewers doesn’t always go right, which make sales of that kind of technology drop because no one sees the reason for it. Or sometimes it may go farther than that, where people may commit suicide thinking they could be part of that fictional world on the silver screen. People don’t seem to care or may not understand because it doesn’t affect them or it’s just how people are. But we must understand that majority of the movie going audience do have a voice against and for films. So I will explain how films have changed the viewers in many different ways. Through its message, Consumerism, Technology, characters, scenery, and viewpoints.
